'Angatham' in 'Thenkoodu' Traditional Poetry Collection

Abstract

பொருள்கோள் முறையும் அணியிலக்கணங்களும் பண்டைய காலந்தொடங்கி மரபு கவிதைகளில் காணப்படும் முக்கியமானதொரு உத்தியாகத் தென்படுகின்றது. சொல்ல வரும் கருத்தினையும் அது வெளிப்படுத்தும் உணர்ச்சிகளையும் கருத்தில் ஏற்றி படைக்கப்படும் முறையே உத்தியாகக் கொள்ளப்படுகின்றது. இவ்வுத்தி முறையில் அங்கதம் எனும் நகைச்சுவை, புலமை நுட்பம், திறனாய்வுப் பார்வை ஆகியவைகளை உள்ளடக்கிய உத்தியாகவே இது தோன்றுகிறது.  இவ்வுத்தியை, இறையருட் கவிஞர் செ. சீனி நைனா முகம்மது அவர்கள் தமது ‘தேன்கூடு’ தமிழ்க்கவிதைத் தொகுப்பில் எவ்வகையில் கையாண்டுள்ளார் என்பதை ஆராய்வதே இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கமாகும்.  இக்கவிதை நூலில் வரையறுக்கப்பட்ட செம்பொருள் அங்கதம், பழிகரப்பு அங்கதத்தின் இரு கோணங்களும் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன. தமிழில் மறுமலர்ச்சிக்குப் பிறகு தோன்றிய பல தமிழ் இலக்கிய வடிவங்களில் அங்கதம் ஓர் இலக்கிய உத்தியாகக் கையாளப்பட்டு வருகின்றது. தேன்கூடு கவிதைத்தொகுப்பில் கவிஞர் செ. சீனி நைனா முகம்மது அவர்கள்,  அங்கத உத்தியைப் பயன்படுத்தி மனித மனத்தின் கொட்டத்தையும் சமுதாயத்தின் இழிநிலையையும் தமிழர்களின் நன்றிகொல்லும் இழிகுணத்தையும் கிண்டல் செய்யும் போக்கில் சாடியுள்ளார். இவர்தம் கவிதைகள் முழுவதும் அங்கதச்சுவை பரவலாகக் காணப்படுகின்றது.

The usage of ‘Ani Ilakkanam’ and ‘Porul Kol’ appears to be an important technique found in traditional poetry dating back to ancient times. A Technique commonly known as ‘Uththi” is a method created by considering the idea to be expressed and the emotions it expresses. In this Technique, it appears to be a strategy that includes humor, scholarly thoughts, and critical perspective. This technique was used by the great poet S. Seeni Naina Mohamed from Malaysia in his various poems. The purpose of this article is to study how S. Seeni Naina Mohamed has handled it in his collection of Tamil poetry 'Thenkoodu'. In this poetry, both aspects of the ‘Chemporul Angatham’ and the ‘Palikarappu Angatham’ were found. Angatham is used as a literary technique in many forms of Tamil literature that emerged after the renaissance in Tamil. Poet S. Seeni Naina Mohamed in ‘Thenkoodu’ Poem Collection used Angatham technique to criticize the sting of the human mind and the ignominy of society and the ungrateful ignominy of Tamils.
