Abstract

பண்டைய தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களில் செங்கோன்மையும் கொடுங்கோன்மையும் என்ற இந்த ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரை அக்காலக்கட்டத்தில் நமது அரசர்கள் தங்களின் ஆட்சியின் கீழ் அரசாங்கத்தை எம்மாதிரியான ஆட்சி முறையில் நடத்தியுள்ளார்கள் என்பதனை ஆராயவுள்ளது. பண்டைய தமிழ் இலக்கியப் பாக்கள் பொதுவாக மரபு அடிப்படையில் யாப்பு முறையோடு பாடப்பட்டிருக்கும். அவை எடுத்துரைக்கும் தலைவனது ஆட்சி செங்கோன்மையைத் தழுவியும் இருக்கலாம் அல்லது கொடுங்கோன்மையையும் தழுவி இருக்கலாம். திருக்குறள், புறனானூறு, நறுந்தொகை, இன்னா நாற்பது, பழமொழி நானூறு, பாரதியார் கவிதைகள் போன்ற இலக்கியங்களில் அரசன் கோல் முறைகளை ஆராயப்படவிருகின்றன. ஒரு குடியைக் காப்பதும் அழிவிக்கு இட்டுச் செல்வதும் நாட்டிலுள்ள அரசனின் செயல்பாடுகளில் இருக்கின்றன. நல்ல அரசனின் நற்செயல்களைப் போற்றும் பாக்கள் அவனை மட்டுமல்லாது அந்நாட்டின் மக்களின் நல்ல நிலையையும் நாட்டின் நல்வளத்தையும் எடுத்தியம்பும். அதுவே கொடுமைகள் புரியும் அரசனைப் பாடும் பாக்கள் அவனைத் தூற்றியும் மக்களின் அவல நிலையையும் எடுத்துரைக்கும். இந்த ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரையில் ஓர் அரசனது செங்கோன்மையையும் கொடுங்கோன்மையையும் பண்டைய தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களில் வழி காண முடிந்துள்ளன.

This research paper focuses on monarchy and tyranny in ancient Tamil literature examines the way our kings ruled the government under their leadership during that period. Ancient Tamil literary songs are usually sung in traditional Yappu style. The leadership style they refer to can be autocratic or tyrannical. Democratic styles are being explored in literature such as Thirukkural, Purananuru, Narunthogai, Inna Narpathu, Nanuru Pazhamozhi, Bharatiyar poems. Protecting a citizen and leading to destruction are among the functions of a king in a country. The songs that praise the good deeds of the good king will not only take him but also the good condition of the people of the country and the prosperity of the country. That’s why the songs that sing about the king who knows the cruelties will defame him and highlight the plight of the people. In this research paper we have been able to trace the monarchy and tyranny of a king in ancient Tamil literature.
