Investigation of `Okaara’ Interjections in The Collection of Poems Called 'Poontazhal'

‘பூந்தழல்’ கவிதைத் தொகுப்பில் காணப்படும் ஓகார இடைச்சொற்கள்

Abstract

தொல்காப்பியர் சொற்களைப் பாகுப்படுத்தும் போது, சொற்கள் பெயர், வினை என்று இரண்டு வகைப்படும் என்று கூறி, உரியும், இடையும் அவற்றைச் சார்ந்துவரும் என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். இடைச்சொற்கள் சொல்நிலை பெறுவதில் இடைப்பட்ட இயல்பு கொண்டவை. இதனால் இவை இடைச்சொற்கள் எனப்படுகின்றன. இடைச்சொற்களில், ஓகார இடைச்சொல் ஒரு வகையாகும். இந்த ஆய்வு, ஆவலன் என்ற கவிஞர் மு. ஆசைத்தம்பி இயற்றிய ‘பூந்தழல்’ கவிதைத் தொகுப்பில் காணப்படும் ஓகார இடைச்சொற்களை அடையாளங்கண்டு அவற்றைப் பகுப்பதாகும். இவ்வாய்விற்கான தரவுகள் யாவும் நூலக ஆய்வின் வழி பெறப்பட்டதாகும். ஓகார இடைச்சொற்களை ஆராய ‘பூந்தழல்’ கவிதைத் தொகுப்பிலிருந்து கவிதைகள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஓகார இடைச்சொற்கள் மொத்தம் 6 வகையாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், அவை எவ்வாறு கவிதைகளில் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன என்பதைத் தெளிவாக இவ்வாய்வு விளக்குகின்றது.

While classifying words, Tolkappiyar said that words are divided into two categories namely noun and verb and mentioned that `Uri’ and `Idai’ are dependent on them. Interjections are intermediate in nature in acquiring vocabulary. Hence, these are called interjections. Among interjections, `Okaara’ interjection is one type. This study is to identify and analyze the `Okaara’ interjections found in the collection of poems 'Poontazhal' composed by the poet M. Asaithambi named Avalan. All data for this study was obtained through library research. Poems from the poetry collection 'Poontzhal' have been used to explore `Okaara’ interjections. This review clearly explains how the intersyllabic interjections are divided into 6 types in total in the poems.
