புறநானூறு காட்டும் தமிழ் மன்னர்களின் ஆளுமை

Abstract

ஆளுமை என்பது ஒருவரின் தனித்தன்மை வாய்ந்த அமைப்பு எனலாம். ஒருவரது நடை, உடை, பாவனை, குணம், உணர்ச்சி, அறிவு, ஆற்றல் போன்றவற்றின் வளர்ச்சியையும் முதிர்ச்சியையும் அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட மொத்த வெளிப்பாடு ஆளுமை எனலாம். ‘பர்சனாலிட்டி’ (Personality) என ஆங்கிலத்தில் அழைக்கப்படும் இச்சொல், முகமூடி, மறைப்பு எனும் பொருள் கொண்ட ‘பர்சொனே’ (Persone) என்ற இலத்தீன் சொல்லிலிருந்து வந்தது. ஆகவே, ஆளுமை என்பது ஒருவரிடம் மறைந்திருக்கும் ஒருங்கமைந்த பண்புகள் எனக் கருதலாம். இது தனி மனிதர்களின் ஒட்டு மொத்தப் பண்புத் தொகுதி எனலாம். அவ்வகையில், சங்கத் தமிழ் மன்னர்கள் தனக்கெனத் தனித்தன்மையான ஆளுமைகளைக் கொண்டு சிறந்திருந்தனர். இதனைப் புறப்பாடல்களில் காணமுடிகிறது. புறம் என்பது ஓர் ஒப்பற்ற வீரத்தைப் பற்றிப் பேசுவது. புறப்பாடல்களில் தமிழர்களின் வீரத்திற்கே முதலிடம் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதை எட்டுத்தொகை நூல்களுள் ஒன்றான புறநானூறு பாடல்கள் நன்கு விளக்குகின்றன. இனக்குழுத் தலைவன் முதல் மூவேந்தர்கள் வரை பல்வேறு காலங்களில் வாழ்ந்த பல்வேறு வீரர்களின் சிறப்பையும் தமிழர்களின் அறப்பண்பாட்டையும் விளக்கும் விதமாகப் புறநானூற்றுப் பாடல்கள் இடம் பெறுகின்றன. இதில் வீரத்தை முன்னிறுத்தி எழுந்த போர்களைப் பற்றியும் பல குறிப்புகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. புறப்பாடல்களில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள போர்களைக் காணும்போது, இவற்றில் பல தமிழ் மன்னர்களின் வீரத்தைப் போர்த்துறையில் அறியமுடிகின்றது. இதன் அடிப்படையில் தமிழ் மன்னர்களின் ஆளுமைப்பண்புகளை எவ்வாறு புறநானூறுப் பாடல்களில் அமையப் பெற்றுள்ளன என்பதை ஆய்வு செய்வதாகவே இந்த ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரை அமையப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

Personality is a person’s unique characteristic. Personality is the total expression of a person and includes the growth and maturity of one’s style, dress, habits, emotions, intelligence, energy, etc. Personality can be thought of as a set of inherent characteristics inherent in a person. It can be the aggregate character block of individual human beings. Thus, the Sangha Tamil kings excelled with their own unique personalities. This is evident in the Purananuru. Puram speaks of incomparable heroism. One of the eight books in Ettuttokai Compilation of classical Tamil literature Patinen Merkanakku, the Purananuru songs, clearly explains that the heroism of the Tamil kings is given priority in the hymns. These songs, which fall under the Agavalpa category, are written by more than 150 poets. There are also many references to battles fought in the Purananuru songs. When we see the actions mentioned in the songs, many of these Tamil king’s bravery can be seen in the field of war. Based on this, this research paper is to analyze how the personality traits of the Tamil kings have been found in Purananuru.
