திருநாவுக்கரசர் பாடல்களில் சிவனின் எண்குணங்கள்

Abstract

பத்தி இலக்கியம் தோன்றிய காலக்கட்டங்களில் பல சமய பிரிவுகள் தோன்றின. அவற்றுள் சைவச் சமயமும் வைணவச் சமயமும் பெரும்பாண்மையான மக்கள் வழிபடும் சமயங்களாகத் திகழ்ந்தன. சைவச் சமயத்தில் சிவனை முழுமுதற்கடவுளாக வழிபட்டனர். வைணவச் சமயத்தில் திருமாலை முழுமுதற்கடவுளாக வழிபட்டனர். சைவச் சமய அடியார்கள் நாயன்மார்கள் எனவும்; வைணவச் சமய அடியார்கள் ஆழ்வார்கள் எனவும் அழைக்கப்பட்டனர். சைவச் சமயத்தில் சிவனின் அற்புதங்களைப் பாடல் வழியாக மக்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்திய பெருமைகள் அனைத்தும் 63 நாயன்மார்களைச் சாரும். 63 நாயன்மார்களில் நால்வர் என அழைக்கப்படும் நான்கு நாயன்மார்கள் உள்ளனர். அந்த நால்வரில் திருநாவுக்கரசரும் ஒருவராவார். அவர் பாடிய பாடல்கள் சிவனின் எண்குணங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் எடுத்துரைக்கும் வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளன. திருநாவுக்கரசர் பாடிய பாடல்கள் தேவாரம் எனவும் அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. பன்னிரு திருமுறைகளில் திருநாவுக்கரசர் பாடி அருளிய திருமுறைகள் நான்காம், ஐந்தாம், ஆறாம் திருமுறைகளாகும். திருநாவுக்கரசர் பாடிய தேவாரங்கள் யாவும் மரபுகவிதைகளாகக் கருதப்படுகின்றன. இந்த ஆய்வு திருநாவுக்கரசர் தேவாரங்களிலுள்ள எண்குணங்களை அடையாளம் காண மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. எண்குணங்கள் எனப்படுவது சிவனின் எட்டுக் குணங்களைக் குறிக்கின்றது. இந்த ஆய்வில் நூலாய்வு அணுகுமுறை பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த ஆய்வின் முடிவில் சேகரிக்கப்பட்ட தரவுகள் அனைத்தும் விளக்கமுறை அணுகுமுறையில் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. திருநாவுக்கரசரின் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட நான்காம் திருமுறையில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள பாடல்களில், இரண்டாம் பதிகத்தின் முதல் ஐந்து பாடல்கள் மட்டும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்த ஆய்வின் இறுதியில் திருநாவுக்கரசரின் பாடல்களில் சிவனின் எண்குணங்கள் வெளிப்பட்டுள்ளது என்பது உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Many religious sects emerged during the period when devotional literature appeared. Among them, Saivism and Vaishnavism were the religious worshiped by many people. In Saivism, Shiva is worshiped as the supreme deity. In Vaishnava times Tirumal was worshiped as the first deity. Saivite followers are Nayanmars; Vaishnavism followers were also known as Alwars. In Saivism, the glory of showing the miracles of Shiva to the people through songs is attributed to 63 Nayanmars known as four.  Thirunaavukarasar is one of those four. The songs he sang are devoted to highlighting the virtues and miracles of Shiva. The songs sung by Thirunaavukarasar are also known as Devaram. Out of the twelve Thirumurai, the Thirumurais sung and blessed by Thirunaavukarasar are the fourth, fifth and sixth Thirumurais. All the Devarams sung by Thirunaavukarasar are traditional poems. This study was carried out to identify the ‘Enkunam’ in Thirunaavukarasar devarams. The ‘Enkunam’ refer to Shiva’s eight qualities. A book reserach approach has been used in this study. At the end of this study all the collected data are interpreted in a descriptive approach. Among the hymns featured in Thirunaavukarasar’s selected fourth hymn, only the first five hymns of the second hymn have been selected and examined. At the end of this research, it has been confirmed that the eight qualities of Shiva are revealed in the songs of Thirunaavukarasar.
