Abstract

இந்த ஆய்வு மலேசியத் தமிழ் நாட்டுப்புறப்பாடல்களிலுள்ள விதவைகளின் துன்ப நிலையை முழுமையாக ஆராய்ந்துள்ளது. தண்டாயுதத்தின் மலேசியத் தமிழ் நாட்டுப்புறப்பாடல் தொகுப்பு முதன்மை சான்றாதரமாக இதில் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. பத்துப் பாடல்கள் இந்த ஆய்வின் தரவுகளை வழங்கியுள்ளன. தாலி நீக்கம், மஞ்சள் பூசுதல், பட்டுச் சேலை, பூ, ஆபரணம் விலக்கு, சத்தான உணவின்மை மற்றும் தற்கொலை எண்ணம் ஆகியன இந்த ஆய்வின் முடிவுகளாகக் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன.
